Carolyn Faye Brinkley Ferguson, 69 of Emporia, Virginia passed away at home surrounded by family on Thursday, July 26, 2018.
Carolyn was born in Littleton, NC to the late Woodrow and Lillian Brinkley and raised there. She met Mike Ferguson, fell in love and they married on July 30, 1967.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 51 years, Mike, their three sons; Craig Ferguson, Clay Ferguson (Teresa), Chris Ferguson (Stephanie); six loving grandchildren; Tyler Ferguson, Tori Ferguson, Joshua Kim (Victoria), Skylar Ferguson, Haley Ferguson, Tucker Ferguson, two great grandchildren Emili and Alex; her sister, Betty Sue Freuler (Randy), sister-in-law Debbie Moseley (Leslie) and several dearly loved nieces and nephews.
Carolyn had a sweet soul, generous to a fault and made friends easily. She always saw the goodness in everyone. She was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church where she faithfully served the Lord until the time of her illness. She was well known for witnessing through singing; not only in church but her community as well. She was previously a member of the Riparian Woman’s Club and took advantage of any opportunity to be involved with the community.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 6-8 pm at Echols Funeral Home located at 806 Brunswick Avenue, Emporia, Virginia 23847. The Celebration of Life Service will be Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Forest Hill Baptist Church located at 2103 Pine Log Rd Skippers, VA 23879.
